Meet our Teachers

Ruth Hill - Pre-school Director and
Administrative Assistant
Raised practically in the
backyard of St. Paul Lutheran School (her parents, Don & Gwen Poast are our
backyard neighbors), Ruth graduated from Omaha Tech High School and went to the
University of Nebraska to get her degree in Engineering. After college, she
worked as an Engineer for the IRS for 13 years and then, 9 years ago, decided
that God was calling her to work with children.
Ruth and her husband, Mike, have three children. Adam, 16 years old and Jacob,
14 years old, are both St. Paul graduates and now attend Omaha North High;
Ruth, is 11 years old and is in the 7th grade here at St Paul. (Ruth's
grandmother, mother, and her daughter all share the same first name).
Ruth has been teaching for nine years, all of them here at St. Paul Lutheran
School

Evelyn Kumm - Kindergarten & 1st Grade
Evie & her husband, Randy, are the parents of three
grown children - Daryl, Bryan, and Sarah. They also have one granddaughter - Anthina Evie has been teaching for 29 years. She has taught at Word
of Life Christian School, Plattsmouth Public School, LaVista-Papillion Public
Schools, Sword of the Spirit Christian School, Kumm Family Home School, Central
Christian School and now at St. Paul.

Linda Iwen - Kindergarten & 1st Grade
Linda was born and raised in Greenfield, IA
and attended college at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, MO. She married
Duane Iwen after her sophomore year and they moved to Omaha where she attended
UNO and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. Linda
& Duane have three children all living in Omaha. They enjoy three grandchildren
ages 13, 10 and 5.
In 1972, after teach in
OPS, the "reading Room" was Linda's first St. Paul assignment. She taught 2nd
and 3rd graders reading and spelling. Beginning in 1985 she taught kindergarten
for six years after which she moved to 1st grade for fourteen years, retiring in
2005. Presently, until Christmas, Linda is teaching kindergarten in the morning
and kindergarten/first grade in the afternoon

Sara Guerra - Kindergarten & 1st

Linda Tripp - Principal, Second & Third Grade
Linda and her contractor husband, Steve, have two children
- John, who is an ESL Biology instructor at South High School and Jennifer, a St. Paul
Alum, who is married and a registered nurse at UNMC. Linda has
worn and continues to wear several different hats here at St. Paul.
Currently she is both our Acting Principal and our Second and Third Grade Teacher.

Julie Dagel - Fourth &
Fifth Grade
Julie graduated from college in 1978 and received a call
from St. Paul Lutheran School. The Oregon native has acclimated to our
humid weather and she now considers Omaha to be her home. She and her
husband, Richard, are the parents of 20 year old Matthew.
Julie has been teaching for
32 years, all of them at St. Paul.

Jeni Langfeldt - Sixth, Seventh & Eighth Grade
Born and raised in
Omaha, NE. Attended St. Paul Lutheran School from kindergarten
through the eighth grade. Graduated from Omaha North High
School. Attended Concordia University in Seward for two years, then
transferred and graduated from UNO with a bachelors degree in
Elementary Education. Student taught at St. Paul in Mrs. Dagel's fourth
grade classroom. Upon graduation, Jeni was hired and taught sixth grade St.
Paul. For the past three years, Jeni has taught sixth grade at Walnut Hill
Elementary for the Omaha Public Schools. Jeni is THRILLED to be back at St.
Paul. St. Paul is home to Jeni. Jeni and her husband have four amazing
children and love living in Omaha where all their family is.
Future Plans & Aspirations
- I look forward to many years of
teaching in the classroom. I desire to lead young people in serving the
Lord and making disciples of all nations. My passion is to see people
walk in their divine purpose that God has ordained for them!!!!!
- This September, I will start
coursework to earn my Masters Degree in Education Administration. I
will graduate in June 2011. I am excited to learn, to grow as a
professional and to meet new people.
